History

You may have heard of the USFL (United States Football League). Some people may even remember it but completely forgot it even existed before it made a comeback Spring of 2022. Many people would have some questions about what possibly could have happened to a football league that gave the NFL a run for their money. After the USFL was founded in 1983, it was in the works for three years, until in 1986 it failed. If you don't know why it failed, it got into a lawsuit with the NFL. Believe it or not, the USFL was the league that started the suit! They decided to file an antitrust lawsuit against the NFL when they first started. The lawsuit lasted as long as the league was in operation, for all three years. The USFL ended up winning the lawsuit because the NFL violated anti-monopoly laws. Though the USFL won, the case took a large cut out of their budget and they ended up with not enough money to keep the league in operation. Therefore, they had to end the league never to be seen again... until 2022.

Locations

The USFL does not have their very own feilds for each team. Instead of spending all of their budget on making stadiums, they use the same 2 for all of the regular season games. The games are currently played in Birmingham, Alabama, at either Protective Stadium or Legion Field. However, the playoffs are going to be played at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

Scoring

In the league a touchdown is scored the same way as the traditional NFL. In other words, when the ball crosses the goal line while still in live possesion. When a touchdown is scored the team is awarded 6 points with three different opportunities afterward for EXTRA POINTS.

-ONE POINT CONVERSTION-
If the scoring team decides to go for a one point converstion, they will attempt to kick the ball through the uprights from the 15-YARD LINE.

-TWO POINT CONVERSTION-
If the scoring team decides to go for the two point converstion, they will attempt to get ball across the goal line while still in live possesion. Same goal as a touchdown. Except this is attempted from the 2-YARD LINE.

-THREE POINT CONVERSTION-
If a team decides to go for the three point converstion, they have the same goal as the 2 point converstion except it is attempted from the10-YARD LINE.
